When they are looking for a local cosmetic surgeon, Williamsburg residents trust the talented team at Plastic Surgery Center of Hampton Roads. T. Randall (Randy) Blanchard, MD, FACS, joined Plastic Surgery Center of Hampton Roads in 1999. He is a fully trained plastic surgeon, having received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. He completed his general surgical training at the Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine. He then completed his plastic surgery training at the University of Tennessee and now practices as a local cosmetic surgeon. Williamsburg, Hampton Roads and surrounding-area patients appreciate his compassionate approach to patient care and deep knowledge of the intricacies of surgical procedures.
Dr. Blanchard is Board Certified in both Plastic Surgery and General Surgery. He was named in Hampton Roads Magazine‘s Top Doc’s Hall of Fame in Plastic Surgery. He is an active member in many professional organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, Medical Society of Virginia, and Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.
Dr. Blanchard is a native Tidewater Virginian. He was born in Norfolk, grew up in Williamsburg, and graduated from Hampden Sydney College. Dr. Blanchard was very young when he chose a career in plastic surgery after learning of a neighbor’s reconstructive miracle following an accident. Dr. Blanchard is from a medical family and learned much about patient care by observing his father interact with patients in the office and the hospital. His brother joined his father in practice. His sister, Christine Marcuson, MD, is a dermatologic Mohs surgeon who practices in Williamsburg.
One of the things that Dr. Blanchard enjoys about plastic surgery is that it offers continuous challenges. Every patient is different, and procedures have to be tailored to the individual needs of each patient. His philosophy regarding plastic surgery is to educate his patients so that they may become involved in the decision-making process regarding the proposed surgery.
Dr. Blanchard was raised in the Tidewater area. His lifelong goal was to return to coastal Virginia, develop his surgical practice, and raise his family. Dr. Blanchard and his wife Lauren live in Seaford with their growing family. The family enjoys many outdoor activities including boating and fishing.
